ccteht - Anyone can fall victim to #HumanTrafficking, and homeless #youth are at higher risk for human trafficking in #Canada. Youth understandably want to escape the violence and unpredictability of street life and can be lured by traffickers who trick them with fake #job offers, and a safe place to stay free of charge. Once in a trafficking situation, the reality of returning to life on the street may deter #victims/#survivors from attempting to leave, or from reaching out for help. The need for housing represents a systemic challenge for victims/survivors who wish to exit their situation and have no where else to turn. Until housing needs are met, victims/survivors may remain trapped in violence or unable to move forward with their recovery.
